wastewater energy

Every city contains tens (or hundreds) of thousands of houses and buildings. Every one of these has a hot water system, and every day the heat contained in these systems goes 'down the drain'.
Wastewater is therefore a vast untapped source of thermal energy in every city in the world, and it can be used for heating and cooling buildings much more efficiently than the normal ways currently used.
We provide specialist expertise to use this energy. We undertake feasibility studies for specific projects. We develop city wide strategies to allow a city to plan how to use it, and we can calculate and map the thermal energy in wastewater networks (or parts of networks) so cities can match energy supplies with energy demands.
Below are examples from two cities where we have calculated and mapped the wastewater energy.
We would love to help all cities become more energy efficient and sustainable.
