queenstown aquatic centre heating options
This heating options study project was done in conjunction with Powell Fenwick Consultants
The Queenstown Aquatic Centre is the main aquatic facility in Queenstown, offering a range of indoor pools for sports and leisure. The study started by assessing the existing heating infrastructure, energy consumption and associated financial and environmental costs. We also made allowance for a possible future expansion of the facility. We then identified seven possible heating system upgrade options to be assessed. These options included both alternative heating energy sources as well as modifications to the ventilation and heat recovery systems. Each option was financially and environmentally modelled over a 20-year time horizon and ranked from best to worst in each criteria. |
